NEW YORK – After a long spring and summer, the best time of the year is right around the corner.
It’s been a busy offseason for the league, full of engagements and weddings. Enjoyable as those have (or have not) been, it’s time to focus on the thing that matters most – fantasy football.
Now, our 10-man gang is staring down the barrel at draft day.
In years past, it has been a day of celebration: Food, drinks, boards. But in 2026, it’s harder than ever to get all of the guys together. Sure, I attended the draft virtually for most of my time in the league, but this is different.
Australian children’s bands and “prior commitments” have thrown a wrench at the calendars, leaving this Sunday evening as our best bet.
We may not have WiFi or the traditional draft board, but we have the power of friendship and that’s all that really matters, right?
Wrong. The only thing that matters is keeping Brent away from the throne. Since the 2020 COVID season, Mr. Gotkin has won the league title not once, not twice, not thrice, but quadrice (not a real word).
He’s been able to do it with smart trades and aggressive FAAB spending, but it all starts with the draft. This means you have around 48 hours to prepare for battle. Mock as hard as you can, check injury reports and depth charts and make sure you’re not sleeping on any sleepers.
Gentlemen, Valhalla awaits.
